Conflict of interest declaration forms are available for different groups and circumstances, use the appropriate declaration form for:

The following roles are required to complete annual declarations, including nil conflicts, by 1 March:
- executive contract officers
- school principals
- school business and administration managers
- employees undertaking paid outside employment - this includes remuneration as a board or committee member
- employees engaged as members on a board or committee that receives NT Government funding through grants or subsidies.
Please ensure:
Your outside employment application has been approved and is attached to your conflict of interest declaration.
Your line manager has endorsed your conflict of interest declaration.
Completed declarations are sent to qas.doe@education.nt.gov.au
Data access
All data that is held by the department including the information that is stored in the data warehouse, its associated data sets and reports, as well as data that sits outside the data warehouse, is covered by the data access policy.
The policy must be read in conjunction with the data access protocol.

To request data please complete and submit the appropriate form and the Deed of confidentiality.

Digital applications
The department is committed to the safe and compliant use of digital applications and services (apps) in Northern Territory Government schools. The department supports schools wanting to utilise apps by conducting security and privacy assessments. Where the apps capture personal or sensitive information
a privacy information statement is prepared to inform parents or carers when providing consent to use the app.
The department will be actively engaging schools to identify applications to be assessed as we transition to a future where only approved applications will be in use.

Gifts and benefits
The gifts and benefits policy sets out the department’s expectations of employees, School Representative Bodies and School Management Councils, including their employees in the management and mitigation of risks associated with the acceptance of gifts and benefits.

Information statement
The information statement:

Privacy management
The Department of Education and Training is committed to protecting the personal information we collect and manage. Our approach ensures that information is handled responsibly and in line with the expectation of the individuals we serve.
The Information privacy policy outlines how we collect, store, use, share and transfer personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles set out in the Information Act 2002 NT. The principles guide how we manage information to support our services while respecting your right to privacy.
All corporate and school staff working in the NT Department of Education and Training must act in accordance with the Information privacy policy.
Privacy incidents
If you think we may have breached your privacy, please notify your school’s leadership team immediately and contact the Privacy Team at rfi.doe@education.nt.gov.au
All school and corporate staff are required to follow the Department of Education and Training’s Data breach response plan, which outlines the steps and responsibilities in the event the department experiences a data breach or suspects that a data breach has occurred.
