Northern Territory Board of Studies policies and guidelines
The Northern Territory Board of Studies is the peak body advising the Minister and the Chief Executive of the Northern Territory (NT) Department of Education and Training on curriculum policy - from early childhood education through to the senior secondary years.
The Board provides expert advice on curriculum appropriate to the unique educational environment of the Territory and, on best practices in assessment, reporting and certification of achievement as learners progress in their journey from early childhood to year 12.

The board’s curriculum, assessment, reporting and certification policy for early childhood to year 12, explains the Australian and NT legislation which all schools and early childhood education and care services must follow in relation to curriculum, assessment, reporting and certification.
Specific policy documents, developed by each sector, will support this policy to give additional detail; focused on supporting best practice and implementation aligned to individual sector priorities.

NT Certificate of Education and Training student awards policy
The Board administers awards to students from NT Government and non-government schools in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
This policy applies to awards administrated by the Board. It outlines criteria for establishing or revoking awards, selecting award recipients, processes for presenting awards, and roles and responsibilities of the Board, school staff, students and sponsors.
