NT Secondary Education is changing
The Northern Territory Government is making a significant investment in the future of education by transitioning to a new, comprehensive secondary education system across Darwin, Palmerston, and Alice Springs.
Following extensive engagement with school employees, students and parents on the proposed models for secondary schools, the Northern Territory Government is proud to announce the new secondary school design for Darwin, Palmerston and Alice Springs.
Key changes include:
- Years 7-12 in one school
- Fast-tracked pathways to real jobs
- New industry and trade colleges
- A future-ready education system, built with community input.
These changes will:
- Create a seamless education journey from Year 7 to 12
- Strengthen teacher-student relationships
- Enhance support and opportunities for teachers
- Ensure greater equity and choice for all students.
