Chief Minister's Reading Challenge 2023

Territory students are being encouraged to mark International Children's Book Day (ICBD) by taking part in the Chief Minister's Reading Challenge.

This year's theme will be a celebration of Greece.

Since 1967, on or around Hans Christian Andersen’s birthday, 2 April, ICBD has been celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children’s books. The sponsor country for 2023 is Greece.

The theme for ICBD 2023 is ‘I am a book, read me’.

We encourage all students to embrace ICBD during the Chief Minister’s Reading Challenge.

Why not read a book about Greece? If you do, take a photo of you reading and write a short review. We’d love to share your story on the website and social media.

Let us know what you're reading.

Have you read to your pets, grandparents, people in aged care or started a book club with friends? Are you reading at your local library? We want to share your stories and photos.

To share your experiences or reviews, email cmrc.doe@education.nt.gov.au.
