Nominations are now open for the 2026 Northern Territory (NT) Education and Care Awards, recognising outstanding educators, services and programs across the NT.

The awards celebrate individuals and organisations making a positive difference to children's learning, wellbeing and development, while helping give Territory children the strongest possible start in life.

Territorians are encouraged to nominate an educator, service or program making a meaningful contribution to children, families and communities.

Award categories include:

  • Outstanding Educator
  • Outstanding Aboriginal Educator
  • Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher
  • Outstanding Leader
  • Outstanding Education and Care Program

The 2026 Outstanding Education and Care Program award theme is Nurturing a child-safe culture in early childhood education and care.

In 2025, Tracy Bond from Humpty Doo Preschool was named Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher. Past winners such as Tracy highlight the impact early childhood professionals have on children, families and communities.

The NT Education and Care Awards are delivered in partnership by the NT Government, Child Australia and Early Childhood Australia.

Nominations close on 12 June 2026. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 16 October 2026 at DoubleTree by Hilton Darwin.
