Secondary Reform milestone with new Alice Springs high school named

Published

Following consultation with students, parents and school staff, we are pleased to announce the new Red Centre high school will be named Alice Springs College.

The college will be operational from the beginning of 2027, led by Secondary School Transitional Principal Donna O’Brien (pictured left), combining Centralian Middle School and Centralian Senior College into a cohesive Years 7 to 12 education setting.

Set to deliver both academic and vocational education and training pathways, the college will support students to achieve their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training and prepare for their futures.

Teachers will also benefit from the expanded career pathways and development opportunities that working in a larger school provides.

The college is part of the department’s Secondary Reform program, delivering on the commitment to ensure every student, regardless of where they live has access to excellent, equitable secondary education and clear pathways to employment or further study.

With the new name now decided, the school community is excited to commence designing the brand, including its vision, values, logo, colours and uniform.

We look forward to seeing what’s next!
