Hector gives thumbs up for new kiss and go
Driver Primary School’s new kiss and go area got the thumbs up from Hector the Road Safety Cat on day one of the new term.
Hector was joined by Driver school leaders, Sofiya Williams and Shiloh McGowan, and Principal, Danielle Hall, to check out the new facility which will improve safety for the nearly 500 students at the school.
Vehicles will now travel in a single direction, completing a turnaround in the new cul-de-sac, removing excessive traffic turns and congestion.
The upgrades will alleviate congestion during drop-off and pick-up periods, providing enhanced safety, convenience and accessibility for families, staff and visitors to the school, as well as nearby residents.
A shade structure connected to the school's under cover basketball court will also provide shelter from the sun and rain for students.
