Palmerston Youth Skills Centre celebrates graduate success
The Palmerston Youth Skills Centre (PYSC) proudly honoured the achievements of its Semester 1, 2025 Certificate I and Certificate II students recently during their annual graduation ceremony.
A total of 71 students from schools across the Darwin and Top End region celebrated their success, with 65 students completing Certificate I qualifications across 4 vocational areas – Automotive, Engineering, Animal Studies and ElectroComms – and an additional 6 students graduating with Certificate II qualifications in Construction. These programs equip young people with practical, hands-on skills while helping them build confidence and prepare for future education, training and employment pathways.
As part of the celebrations, students proudly guided their parents and families on tours of the centre, showcasing the workshops and learning spaces where they developed their skills. Families were able to see firsthand the dedication and effort that went into students completing their programs, making the event a proud and memorable milestone for everyone involved.
Students from the Certificate II Cookery program also contributed to the event by preparing and serving an impressive selection of food – a terrific highlight of their culinary skills, adding to the days sense of achievement.
The PYSC continues to provide practical training opportunities, helping to prepare young people for real-world success. With more students currently undertaking Certificate II programs in Construction and Cookery, and a new group of Certificate I students now enrolled, the PYSC staff look forward to celebrating further achievements at the end of the year and remain dedicated to empowering young people across the region.
Congratulations to all graduates!
