The Department of Education and Training is committed to ensuring all children can access and experience quality early learning opportunities and grow in safe and welcoming learning environments that help them build skills for their future.
The Early Childhood Safe Start, Strong Futures Plan 2026 works to enhance the quality of early childhood education and care services in the Northern Territory, and to ensure consistent implementation of child safety practices across all early education and care services.
The plan has been developed based around four pillars, focussing on accountability, investment, improvement and engagement, and is designed to reinforce a strong, sustainable sector staffed with skilled and experienced professionals who deliver safe, high-quality education and care for the Territory’s youngest learners.
