Musical magic at Bulman School

Published

Congratulations to Bulman School who were named the school category winners of the inaugural 2024 Caring for Country music competition.

This competition aims at raising awareness of the importance of caring for our country through biosecurity, giving schools, individuals, and groups the chance to bring their musical creativity to life.

Bulman School were awarded for their song, Strong Bala Wei, written by Vivian Lawrence, Steve Lane and students. The song is performed in Rembarrnga, Dalabon and Kriol languages bringing the whole community together. This is an incredible achievement following their recent win of the Community Clip of the Year at the 2024 National Indigenous Music Awards held earlier in the year.

Bulman School has been delivering its Language through Music program for the last 3 years, providing students with the opportunity to learn how to play instruments, write songs, sing, perform and preserve language in a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Bulman School’s inspiring collaboration with the community continues to thrive, leading students to success.

Keep up the great work, Bulman School.
