Landmark school funding agreement signed
Department of Education CE Karen Weston joined Federal and Territory Education Ministers and NT Chief Minister at Moulden Primary School for the signing of an historic funding agreement that will see more than $1.1 billion allocated to Territory schools.
The Northern Territory is the first jurisdiction to sign the new Better and Fairer Schools Agreement (BFSA) that will fully and fairly fund all government and non-government Territory schools by 2029.
The agreement commences from 1 January 2025 and commits the Northern Territory to implement shared national reforms, enrolment-based funding and recommendations in the Review into Secondary Education.
