NT educators recognised at Commonwealth Bank Teaching Awards

Katherine High School’s Conor Fennell and Laynhapuy Homelands School’s Jessica Mumford are among 22 award winners, from more than 500 educators at this year’s Commonwealth Bank Teaching Awards!

They were recognised for their outstanding contributions to their schools and local communities.

Assistant Principal Conor has initiated several programs that has helped teachers’ encourage positive student learning and behaviour in their classrooms, leading to a significant improvement in student behaviour and attracting and retaining staff.

Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Coordinator Jessica has developed game-changing resources and training for local Indigenous teachers and visiting teachers, so they know how to best work with students, including those who have experienced trauma.

Jessica and Conor join a distinguished list of alumni from 6 consecutive years, who have all been nationally recognised as leaders in their field for fostering equal opportunity for students in school communities across Australia.
