Key Stakeholder Advisory Group: early childhood and school aged education and care
The Key Stakeholder Advisory Group (KSAG) provides advice to the Department of Education and Training to strategically support the department’s efforts to deliver and improve early childhood education and care, and school aged care outcomes for children across the Northern Territory (NT).
The group meets quarterly and discusses issues relating to 3 focus areas:
- early childhood education and care reforms in the NT
- NT-specific policy issues
- professionalisation of the early childhood education and care sector – including raising the profile of the sector, and the annual delivery of the NT Education and Care Awards.
Membership
The advisory group currently has representatives from the following organisations:
- Department of Chief Minister and Cabinet
- Early Childhood Australia (NT branch)
- Child Australia
- Territory Child Care Group
- Charles Darwin University
- Industry Skills Advisory Council NT
- Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade
- Australian Government Department of Education
- Aboriginal Peak Organisations Northern Territory.
The advisory group has an independent chair with secretariat services provided by the Teaching and Learning Services division within the department.
