Rooftop Solar in Schools
The Rooftop Solar for Schools program will provide $5 million to selected schools over a three year period.
The intention of the program is to provide solar systems in schools that are tied to educational programs teaching students about the new solar technology. The solar systems will be inclusive of monitoring and measurement equipment and lead to innovative school-based educational projects, inspiring our next generation of engineers and scientists to advance renewable energy solutions.
The schools that will receive funding in the 2018-19 round are:
SCHOOL | REGION |
---|---|
Casuarina Senior College | Darwin Region |
Centralian Middle School | Alice Springs Region |
Katherine High School | Katherine Region |
Nightcliff Primary School | Darwin Region |
Nhulunbuy High School | Arnhem Region |
Palmerston College | Palmerston and Rural Region |
Sanderson Middle School | Darwin Region |
Tennant Creek High School | Barkly Region |
To enable our remote and very remote schools to benefit from the Roof Top Solar in Schools initiative, we are inviting them to submit an expression of interest to the department highlighting how they will introduce solar usage into their educational program.
