Families as first teachers

Through participation in quality early learning programs, children will have a strong sense of identity and wellbeing and start their learning journey as confident involved learners.

The Families as First Teachers (FaFT) policy documents explain the delivery, reporting and accountability processes for FaFT programs across the Territory.

FaFT delivers quality early learning and parent support programs to young children and their families. It develops place-based programs to engage families and communities and to build parents’ capacity to give their children the best start in life.

For more information, please contact faft.doe@education.nt.gov.au or 08 8999 3550.

Educators can also access more resources and information on the FaFT Support for teachers page and on the Families as First Teachers eLearn page, staff login required.

Preschool

Preschools have specific policies and procedures in place as a minimum standard for operating an education and care service.
