Student’s wraps spruik safety

The rear of two Buslink buses are emblazoned with wraps displaying a special road safety message.

The vehicles are decorated with the eye-arresting art of Palmerston College student Isabelle Craven, winner of the company’s NT student design competition.

The Road Safety Week event invited submissions on safe road crossing, the safety impacts of distracting technology, or the most important bus safety rule.

The overall winner — identified as ‘Izzy C’ on the wraps — chose a message on safety protocols after leaving a bus.

The Year 12 student entered the contest after seeing it advertised on the college’s Facebook.

“I thought it would be a good way to showcase my artistic talent,” she said. “I am so excited to have won the competition and display an important safety message in such a high-profile way.

“The buses are on the Humpty Doo runs, and I believe the wraps will remain for a year.”

Isabelle eclipsed primary to senior school rivals from three Territory regions, and collected a $100 prize.
