Harlo and Scout stopover

Two therapy dogs have visited Darwin High School to boost the wellbeing of students. Lovable Harlo and Scout — supplied by Mind Your Paws — are trained to reduce stress in students.

The pilot program, which started this term with small groups of students, has attracted very positive feedback from students and staff.

The school is hoping to introduce the affectionate canines to ease tension during periods of stress, such as study times, and before and after major exam periods.

The Darwin High School plans to run the scheme for the rest of the year.
