Exit Art: a treasury of talent

Published

Exit Art opens at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory on 14 February 2020. The annual exhibition will showcase outstanding artworks by 2019 Year 12 students from government and non-government schools.

The exposition captures the passions and personalities of 50 artists and generates thought-provoking perspectives in subtle and stark tones.

The 55 works in Gallery 5 testify to the technical competence of their creators and the latitude of their imaginations in mediums such as fabric paint on linen, ceramic and glazes, charcoal on cardboard, GIF animation, synthetic paint on polymer, and lead and coloured wax pencil.

The diverse and highly inventive submissions attract the Minister’s Choice Award, the Darwin Visual Arts Award, merit awards, the Jackson’s Drawing Supplies Award and the Tactile Arts’ Craft Award.

The 27th Exit Art is open to the public until 12 July 2020.
