Celebrating NT women in education: Lauren English
Meet Lauren English, the Teaching Principal at Mataranka School.
With a passion for ensuring that every child has access to an education wherever they are, Lauren has spent her teaching career working in remote Northern Territory; Ali Curung, Borroloola and Ngukurr and Katherine.
“As an educator, I love the relationships you get to build with young people and I have loved every second of it,” Lauren said.
“In teaching, you work alongside your students and get to celebrate all of the ups and downs of their learning journey with them.
“By working in remote schools, I enjoy the connection you make with people, the deep and meaningful relationships. There are every day challenges but there is also the opportunity to really make a difference.”
