Study tour by Negros Occidental teachers

A six-member delegation from Negros Occidental — a province of the Philippines — is in Darwin for five days of professional development.

The visit is the first activity in a collaborative agreement between the province and the department endorsed in April this year.

The agenda includes visits to Walker Learning Approach and Read Write classes, a junior band music class, pastoral care groups, and robotics, art, and Intensive English classes.

The group comprises science teacher Andrea V Madalag, English as a Third Language teacher Dinah T Tablan, English language educators Dr Francis Jay A Jimera and Mei-Mei P Lonasco, delegation leader Tina Orbecido, and photographer Ernil Torrento Orbecido.

The deputation is visiting Anula Primary School, Sanderson Middle School and the department, beginning 19 November.
