Stellar students invited to Canberra camp
Elite athletes from Casuarina Senior College have the opportunity to attend a Canberra camp as participants in the college’s High Performance Sports Program.
Launched in 2016, the three-year program facilitates student athletes’ development in areas such as fitness, coaching, nutrition and sport psychology.
Attendees at the Australian Institute of Sport camp will address post-training recovery, nutrition and strength, sport psychology and physiotherapy in both practical sessions and lectures with AIS staff.
The college’s HPSP Sports Program Coordinator, Liz Grylls said: “The camp will provide our student athletes with the knowledge of what elite performers undertake in striving for success, build their leadership skills, and develop their confidence.
“Students will also have an opportunity to investigate the health and sport science courses run at the Australian National University, and for our staff, it is a chance to become more proficient coaches.”
There are 40 students in this year’s High Performance Sports Program.
