Roaring cars and high speed contest delighted students

The three-day V8 Supercars race is over, but to more than 215 schoolchildren who made a 15 June sojourn to the Hidden Valley raceway, it will be a treasured memory.

The thrilling visit, known as the Students on Track program, included a stopover at the exclusive Supercars paddock to watch the action in the teams’ garages, rub shoulders with the drivers, and gain insights into the high-octane motorsport.

Apart from watching drivers and team engineers prepare for the rubber burning battle, the students held a Junior Press Conference with Supercars’ legends Craig Lowndes, Tim Slade, Todd Hazelwood and Will Davison.

There were countless attractions on offer, many of which were linked to mathematics, science, technology, English, physical education, economics and business.
