Sister schools unite again
A Chinese delegation from the primary school affiliated with Anhui Normal University in China’s Anhui Province, made a recent stopover at Leanyer Primary School — their sister school.
The visit by the eight ambassadors, including assistant principal Mr Luo ZhengWei, allowed Leanyer students, teachers and leaders, to discuss effective learning and teaching practices.
Lead Teacher – Special Education, Eboné Coats, said students from preschool to Year 6 were fascinated to learn from the Chinese representatives, asking lifestyle questions about favoured foods, sports and housing.
“The Chinese teachers also taught calligraphy and instructed our students about Anhui Province, and on aspects of their culture,” she said. “Our Year 5/6 students explored the complexities of calligraphy, and enjoyed a Chinese language class.
“Leanyer Primary School has a close partnership with our sister school, regularly welcoming Anhui delegates, and we’ve also visited the province twice over the past two years, greatly strengthening our association.”
