Showcasing outstanding talent
A display of art produced by former Year 12 students is now showing at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.
The annual Exit Art is showcasing the exceptional works of a select number of last year’s graduates — from Territory government and non-government schools — and this year demonstrates the technical competency and creativity of 45 visual artists from 14 schools in Darwin, regional and remote communities.
The works include pencil on watercolour paper, digital photography, mixed media, synthetic polymer paint on canvas, video, and linocut on paper.
Through ambitious manipulation of media, the exhibition captures the passions and personalities of the artists and generates thought-provoking perspectives in subtle and stark tones.
Exit Art is a collaboration of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory and the Department of Education.
The 23rd Exit Art can be seen in the Flinders Gallery until 4 June 2017.
