Chic school collects multiple awards for architecture
The new Northern Territory School of Distance Education building at the Bullocky Point Education Precinct was the most awarded project at the 2017 Northern Territory Architecture Awards on Friday 16 June.
The building claimed the coveted Tracy Memorial Award of the Australian Institute of Architects’ NT chapter.
Designed by MODE, the facility also won the Northern Territory Chapter Award for Educational Architecture and an interior fit-out award.
NTSDE principal Marcia Harvey said: “The dynamic education space caters for the needs of students across the Territory, and beyond, who undertake their studies through distance education.
“Students are delighted with their new school, and have thoroughly enjoyed the residential programs conducted since the building was completed in June 2016.”
Braitling Preschool also won an award, and the new Henbury School received a commendation.
