Who will be the mental Tour de Force?
Students will shortly clash in an intellectual battle as 29 schools field teams in the Territory heat of the national Tournament of Minds.
The annual brain bending contest is open to primary, middle and senior students, and 20 Territory government and nine non-government schools will contend for supremacy in the categories of science technology, engineering mathematics, and language literature.
The Tournament of Minds aims to help students develop enterprise, creativity and time management skills, and the discipline to work collaboratively within a competitive environment.
On 16 September, Alice Springs-based Ross Park Primary School will contest the regional tournament online. The other registrants will compete at Charles Darwin University on 17 September. The winner of the Territory challenge will progress to the Australasian Pacific Final from 13 to 16 October.
