Assessment of student competencies
The Assessment of Student Competencies (ASC) is a Northern Territory developed on-entry screening tool.
The ASC consists of 47 competencies. Assessment is required for all Transition students attending government schools. ASC resources are also available to non-government schools.
Transition students are required to be assessed early in Term 1 of the school year, using the Assessment of Student Competencies (ASC).
During Term 1, all forty-seven competencies need to be assessed and achievement recorded in the Student Achievement Information System (SAIS).
Additional support materials are available in the early primary teachers' toolkit on Learning Links.
