Building Better Schools

The Building Better Schools program will provide $300 000 to every school in the Northern Territory over a four year period commencing in 2017-18.

The program will provide new and improved school facilities that enhance students’ education experience and facilitate quality learning outcomes.

The following schools will be investing the $300 000 in 2017-18 across the below projects:

Alawa Primary School Upgrade Local Area Network and install toilet into library
Amanbidji School Create new access from preschool to main school building and ablutions
Angurugu School Upgrade to playground equipment
Arlparra School Contribute to existing project to upgrade kitchen
Bakewell Primary School Install covered walkway and student drop-off area
Batchelor Area School Upgrade administration office
Bradshaw Primary School Upgrade carpark and ‘kiss n go’
Casuarina Street Primary School Playground equipment and upgrade ablutions
Darwin Middle School Install covered shelter over bus zone including walkways to classrooms
Dripstone Middle School Upgrade Local Area Network and upgrade existing shade structures
Driver Primary School Upgrade early years classrooms and ablutions
Girraween Primary School General learning areas
Gray Primary School Upgrade ablutions and irrigation
Haasts Bluff School Construct a classroom for the preschool
Howard Springs Primary School Create water play area in preschool and refresh administration office
Jilkminggan School Upgrade playground equipment and install shade
Katherine South Primary School Upgrade carpark and kiss n go to include covered walkways
Kintore Street School Contribute to the development of the school’s master plan
Lajamanu School Upgrade/ new ablutions
Laramba School Upgrade the school boundary fencing
Larrakeyah Primary School Playground equipment and shade
Leanyer Primary School Upgrades to preschool
Ludmilla Primary School Upgrade front of school
Maningrida College Upgrade preschool ablutions and apply acoustic treatment in classrooms
Manunda Primary School Contribute to existing project to enclose open aired area of the library to install toilets and kitchenette and upgrade student ablutions to support early years and playgroup
Milingimbi School Construct cleaners shed and new boat shed
Millner Primary School Upgrade student ablutions
Moil Primary School Contribute to existing project to upgrade administration building
Mulga Bore School Upgrade school facilities
Nemarluk School Install playground equipment, purpose designed to cater for students with disabilities including wheelchair assisted students
Neutral Junction School Upgrade general learning areas
Nganambala School To Be Advised.
Ngukurr School Upgrade kitchen and ablutions for Transition students
Nightcliff Middle School Upgrade bike shed, vehicle storage and walkways
Palmerston Senior College Refurbish Block D and upgrade acoustics in Block G
Papunya School Secondary facilities
Pularumpi School Upgrade preschool including ablutions
Ramingining School Apply acoustic upgrades to older classrooms and upgrade playground equipment and purchase demountable building currently being leased by the school for additional classrooms
Rosebery Middle School Install covered shelter at the bus zone and extend bus zone
Ross Park Primary School Used $300 000 to contribute to existing project
Sadadeen Primary School Playground equipment
Sanderson Middle School Upgrade three science laboratories
Taminmin College Relocate chook pen and green house as part of existing ablution upgrade works. Funding will also contribute to existing capital works project
Urapunga School Install solid cover over basketball half court, resurface court and install new hoops
Willowra School Install shade over basketball court
Wulagi Primary School Security upgrades
